COOKBOOK.STORE
Terms of use
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of Cookbook.Store (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including cookbook.store and dev.cookbook.store. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Cookbook.Store helps readers discover cookbooks and their authors through listings and featured shelves. Listings marked as fictional sample content describe fictional books and authors. Sample listings are demonstrations, not offers to buy real books or claims about real authors.
Authors can sign in by email link or verified email/password to add, edit, and publish their own cookbook listings. Publications are available immediately and added to an admin review queue. Only site administrators manage shelf placements. For promotion inquiries or help linking an existing listing to your account, contact support@cookbook.store. Creating an account does not give you permission to edit another author’s listings or entitlement to a promotion.
2. Accounts and access
Use an email address you control. Keep access to your email account, password, and sign-in links secure, do not share passwords or sign-in links, and sign out on shared devices. Contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may only access administrative functions if we have authorized your account. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, impersonate another person, or edit listings without permission. The service is not intended for children under 13. If you cannot legally agree to these terms on your own, use the service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who can agree on your behalf.
Choose a public name during account setup; you can change it in Account settings. It is used on your profile, journal and comments, does not grant ownership, and is separate from each cookbook’s printed author credit.
3. Acceptable use
You must not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, infringement, spam, or distribution of malicious code. Do not probe or exploit vulnerabilities, interfere with availability, or use automated requests in a way that disrupts the service. Report security concerns to support@cookbook.store.
4. Listing content and intellectual property
Cookbooks added through the author screens must be intended for all audiences, with appropriate covers, descriptions, and cookbook content. You must confirm this agreement when adding a cookbook.
If you submit or manage a listing, you are responsible for its accuracy and for having permission to use its text, images, author information, and links. Do not submit misleading claims, private information, or content that violates someone else’s rights.
You retain your rights in content you provide. You grant us a non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, resize, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the catalog and display its featured shelves. This license does not transfer ownership of your cookbook or authorize us to sell its contents.
We may correct formatting, decline a submission, or hide or remove content that violates these terms or creates a legal or security concern. Rights in the site’s original design, branding, and content belong to their respective owners. Browsing a listing does not give you permission to republish a cookbook, its cover, or the site’s content.
Coming-soon listings describe books that are not yet released. Expected release labels are supplied by authors and may change; confirm preorder details with the seller. Saved books do not constitute a purchase or email subscription.
Signed-in users can comment and reply on published journal posts. Keep comments relevant and appropriate for all audiences; no harassment, spam, impersonation, or private information. Anyone may report a comment. Administrators may dismiss reports or remove comments. Reports are private and must be made in good faith. Direct messages must also be appropriate for all audiences; do not use them for harassment, spam, impersonation or unwanted solicitation. You can block members from messaging you and, for your own journal, from adding comments. Blocking does not remove existing content. Contact support@cookbook.store for help with messages or account restrictions.
These content responsibilities also apply to public author profiles, social links, journal posts, and uploaded photos. Use an author identity you are entitled to represent, keep content appropriate for all audiences, and upload only images you have permission to publish. Profile URL names are unique and remain fixed after creation. You can keep posts as drafts, publish, unpublish, or delete them. Uploaded images are public even while post text is a draft; deleting a post does not delete image files. Contact support for profile or stored-image removal. We may remove misleading profiles or abusive content.
5. Promotions and payments
Current featured shelves are unpaid selections. Fictional sample listings are labeled as demonstrations. Future paid placements will be identified as Sponsored or Paid placement and treated as advertising, not an independent review, endorsement, or guarantee of cookbook quality, traffic, sales, or search-engine ranking.
The current site does not accept payments. Any future paid promotion will have its price, placement, duration, and applicable cancellation or refund terms presented before purchase. These terms alone do not establish a subscription, payment obligation, or right to a particular placement.
6. External purchases and linked services
Links may take you to retailers, authors, ReciScan, or other independently operated services. Any purchase from an external seller is between you and that seller and is subject to their terms. We do not process those purchases or control external prices, availability, delivery, returns, refunds, or privacy practices.
Our editorial and promotion policy explains paid placements, author contributions and affiliate disclosures. Optional edition facts and author notes must be accurate; share preview links, recipe excerpts and contents only when you have the necessary rights. Mark other affiliate purchase links in the editor.
Amazon purchase links may use our affiliate tracking ID, and we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Imported book details must be checked for accuracy and used only with the necessary permission. Importing a book does not establish ownership of that book or its cover; provide a cover you are authorized to use.
7. Information and availability
Listings may be incomplete, outdated, or supplied by others. Check details with the author or seller before making a purchase. Cookbook descriptions and recipe-related information are not personalized medical, dietary, allergy, or food-safety advice.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change or suspend features for maintenance, development, security, or other operational reasons.
8. Responsibility and access restrictions
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, reliance on listing information, or transactions with external sellers. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address violations, security risks, or legal obligations. You can stop using the service at any time. To request account deletion, follow the contact instructions in our privacy policy.
9. Privacy and changes to these terms
Our privacy policy explains how we handle information. We may update these terms as features develop or requirements change, and will publish the revised date on this page. Where required, we will give additional notice or seek agreement to material changes. Updated terms do not remove rights that applicable law protects.
10. Contact and concerns
For questions about these terms, account access, or a listing, email support@cookbook.store. If you believe a listing infringes your rights, identify the listing, describe the rights involved, and provide enough information for us to investigate and respond.
Authorized administrators may review and edit submitted profiles, cookbooks and journal posts, unpublish content, or disable account access. Journal posts may be published before administrative review.
